Die Eskapaden des früheren Nationalspielers Max Kruse sind für Ex-Bundestrainer Joachim Löw nicht der Hauptgrund für dessen Ausmusterung vor der WM 2014 gewesen. „Die Wahrheit ist: Er war einfach nicht gut genug“, sagte Löw (64) der „Bild“-Zeitung. Der ehemalige Bundesliga-Profi habe zwar seine Qualitäten als Spieler gehabt. „Aber Max wäre manchmal besser in der Uwe-Seeler-Traditionself aufgehoben gewesen, weil das Tempo, seine Dynamik in dem Spiel einfach auch ein Stück weit zu wenig waren“, erklärte Löw.
