Victor Mongil leaving ATK - Two ISL clubs chasing him
Victor Mongil’s time at ATK is unlikely to continue beyond the 2019-20 season. The two-time Indian Super League champions have not shown urge to retain the defender, prompting him to start negotiation with other clubs.
Carrying a Market Value of 500K Euro, the former Spain U-19 was rock solid at the defence. The centre back didn’t start in only one match since he joined the Antonio Habas’ side in the winter transfer.
Talking Football Today has reported that Jamshedpur FC and Mumbai City FC are the front runners to get the signature of the 27-year-old. Jamshedpur are looking for someone to fill the void created by Tiri as the later is set for a move to Kerala Blasters FC.
Meanwhile Mumbai City FC are also looking to plug holes in their defence that will arise when Subhasish Bose moves out at the end of the season. Mato Grgic on the other hand hasn’t been very impressive while the young Anwar Ali is unlikely to make a return soon. Mongil, in this circumstance, could proved to be the man the City Group co-owned club is looking for.
However, with ATK eyeing their third ISL title, Mongil would now be focused on that. What a better way to sign off following a trophy !
