Joakim Nilsson to St. Louis City SC - Deal is nearing completion
St. Louis City SC are nearing a transfer for Arminia Bielefeld defender Joakim Nilsson. Although paperwork has not been completed, Transfermarkt understands that a transfer of the 28-year-old Swedish national team player is in the final stretch with personal terms already agreed. In Nilsson, the club would secure their number one defender. Furthermore, Nilsson will sign a deal that will be significantly below a Designated Player contract.
Nilsson will certainly add significant experience to the side. The 28-year-old has played ten games for Sweden and 78 games in the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga for Arminia Bielefeld (one goal and two assists). St. Louis City have already signed Bürki (BVB), João Klaus (Hoffenheim), Tomas Ostrak (Köln) and Selmir Pidro (Sarajevo).
