Bjørn Johnsen joins CF Montréal - "Big and mobile striker" joins from Ulsan Hyundai

Major League Soccer side CF Montréal have added Norwegian national team striker Bjørn Johnsen. The 29-year-old joins Montréal from Ulsan Hyundai and has signed a two-year contract with an option for 2023. Montréal completed the deal using Targeted Allocation Money.

“We are pleased with the acquisition of such a seasoned player, with extended experience in Europe and Asia”, CF Montréal sporting director Olivier Renard said in a club statement. “Bjørn is a big and very mobile striker. He has shown his capacity to score goals in all the clubs he has played for in the past, and with the Norwegian national team.”



Born in New York to an American mother and a Norwegian father, Johnsen's looks back at a colorful career. The striker has played at 11 different clubs in Europe before making the jump to Asia where he joined Ulsan in January of 2020. There the striker managed three goals and one assist in 15 K League 1 games.
