Atlanta United sign Lisandro López - Former Porto & OL striker to "add experience"
Atlanta United have signed experienced Argentine forward Lisandro López from Racing Club. The transfer was announced early on Monday. Well informed The Athletic reporter Felipe Cárdenas reported that López will sign a one-year deal and occupy a supplemental roster spot, which means he will earn the senior minimum salary at the club ($81,375 in 2020).
"Lisandro is a veteran goalscorer who will strengthen our attack and we're pleased to add a player with his experience and qualities to our club," said Atlanta United vice president and technical director Carlos Bocanegra in a club statement. "He brings leadership and a winning mentality, having won various league and cup titles throughout his career, and we feel that he will have a positive influence on our younger roster."
For López, it will likely be the final destination of what has been a long and successful career.
